This weekend getaway is designed to renew and strengthen married couples who have children with special needs. Come and enjoy delicious meals, insightful sessions led by our guest speakers, and free time at a beautiful resort. Your hosts will be Meaghan Wall, Pastoral Leader of Special Needs at Stonebriar Community Church, and her husband Michael.
Guest Speakers are Karen Thompson, B.S. Psy; Brad Thompson, M.A., L.P.C.
Brad and Karen Thompson are the founders of The HALI Project—a non-profit organization that provides counseling and education services for families and communities who have children with special needs. They work with families, the education system and the medical system to improve inclusion of special needs children.
They have two adult children, Justin and Hali. Hali deals with the challenges of multiple special needs, both physical and cognitive, and is the inspiration for their work.
Brad has a master's degree in counseling from West Texas A&M University and operates a private counseling practice in addition to his work with the project. Karen completed all of her classroom work for a master's degree in psychology. Brad and Karen have 26 years of experience working with families.
Space is limited to 10 couples. Childcare is not offered.The GIFT Ministry covers a large portion of the expense so your cost is only $395 per couple. A deposit of $200 is due at registration.
